CLIMATE CHANGE AT MIDNIGHT - SHOW -CERES GALLERY DECEMBER 4-8 2018
In the summer of 2017 I went to Illulisat on the west coast of Greenland to photograph the huge icebergs that wait in Disco Bay before floating out into the Atlantic. Greenland’s icecap is melting faster each year, and so more ice is being pushed off the land via the large glaciers. The icebergs are beautiful but also a profound reminder of a major impact of global warming – sea level rise. The rapid melting of the Greenland ice and the artic in general poses a major threat to low lying areas of the world, especially the fragile islands of the south pacific. The twelve images of Greenland ice in this exhibit are a reminder of this ever-increasing threat to the planet.

Following a career as a biologist - first as an academic and then an administrator - I have combined my passion for the environment with photography. I am particularly interested in expressing the environmental issues that face us today through images that capture the beauty of our planet but remind us of the problems we have to tackle.
